Factions
Factions offer the player different ways to interact with the world, and to progress through the story. Each faction has its own story arc, quests and rewards (items and skills) and the player can choose to follow one or more of them.
The player can also choose to ignore all factions, and play the game as a regular pokemon trainer, but this will limit the player's access to certain skills and items.
Each faction has a reputation system, which is a number that represents how much the faction likes the player. This number can range from -5 to +5, starting at 0. The player can increase their reputation with a faction by completing quests, or decrease it by engaging negatively with members of that faction.
The reputation score for a faction affects the Charisma checks the player conducts when interacting with them. The higher the reputation, the easier it is to persuade them to do something, or to get information from them.
Minor Factions
These represent smaller groups, that are not involved with the main story arc, but still offer the player a way to interact with the world, as well as some skills and items.
- Shop owners
- Bar/Cafeteria/Restaurant owners
- Pokemon Center staff
- Transport workers (ferries, trains, etc)
Major Factions
These are major groups, involved with their own narrative arc in the story.
